How to Organize your Blog Writing Schedule

The simplest way to do this is use a simple Microsoft Word or Excel template. Then create columns for the

  • Article Title – enter the working title for your article. This may change as you revise the blog post.
  • Blog address – enter the address where you will post the article. This gives you a clearer picture of where you need to focus and the sites that need most attention.
  • Keywords – enter three to five keywords that you want to use in the Title, Meta tags and in the URL. One tip is to use variations of keywords rather than repeating the same word all the time.
  • Start Date – enter the date when you need to start writing the first draft.
  • End Date – enter the date when you complete the post and get it online. The more you use an Editorial Calendar for your blog, the more accurate you will be in estimating how long it takes to write multiple articles.
  • Status – enter Draft, Revise or Final depending on the status of the article. This is a nice way to see where you are with your overall blogging activities. It also gives you a snapshot of where there are gaps in your writing and the blogs that need more attention.
