WordPress Twitter Tools – How to change the ‘New Blog Post:’ prefix when new posts are tweeted? #2

Twitter Tools is a WordPress plug-in that lets you automatically post all your blog posts to Twitter and, if you want, to do this opposite. In other words, to create blog posts from your tweets. When you setup this plug-ins, it has a default setting of New Blog Post as the title of every automated tweet. Most people want to change this – I did anyway – so here is how you do it. Screenshot included.

How do I change the ‘New Blog Post:’ prefix when my new posts get tweeted?

You have to change one line in the plug-in file. The file you want is under Plugins in the twitter-tools folder.

Look for the file – twitter-tools.php.

Plugins/twitter-tools/twitter-tools.php.

Then change ‘New Blog Post:’ to whatever you want.

Alex King, the developer explains that “The reason this is done this way, and not as an easily changeable option from the admin screen, is so that the plugin correctly identifies the tweets that originated from previous blog posts when creating the digest posts, displaying the latest tweet, displaying sidebar tweets, and creating blog posts from tweets (you don’t want tweets that are blog post notifications being treated like tweets that originated on Twitter).”
