Many IT professionals, technical writers included, have seen their salaries frozen or reduced over the past 18 months. Contractors are suffering the same fate as short-term projects dry up.

Facebook hosted a conference call on July 1 to introduce new privacy settings. It plans to offer new settings so you can share links, text, video and photographs with your friends, sub-set of their friends, or ‘everyone.’ At the moment, you can only share these with your friends.
