Technical Writer (Contract, 6 Months)

A technical writer is required by the Infrastructure and Operations Department (I&O) to document an end-to-end series of operational oriented processes, standards and procedures. The position will be required to:

* Create and maintain an Operations documentation system
* Write IT operational standards and procedures
* Write IT service definitions (ITSM functions)
* Write IT operational and end user instructions
* Write templates for future documents (boilerplates)
* Write SLA/OLA agreements
* Write or edit/proof read IT security standards

Criteria

* University degree, college diploma or a combination of education and relevant work experience
* Five years experience in IT related technical document writing
* Experience in process mapping methodologies and practices
* Demonstrated project management skills, ability to work independently

Skills and Knowledge

* ITIL or Microsoft Operating Framework (MOF) knowledge
* Some knowledge of Altova XML Spy Editor product
* Some knowledge of BMC Remedy products
* Demonstrated resourcefulness, strong initiative, and attention to detail
* Demonstrated influencing and issue resolution abilities

Assets

* Knowledge of both official languages would be an asset
* Familiarity with financial software systems would be an asset
* Secret Security Level
