Technical writer to create documentation for its VxWorks Safe and Secure Platforms. The position requires a writer with experience writing documentation for real-time operating systems and embedded software development.Write new documentation (including procedures and tutorials) and update existing documentation for VxWorks 653 and other certified platforms.
Interview subject-matter experts, participate in review meetings, and collaborate with technical writers and subject-matter experts in various geographic locations to create or modify documentation using Adobe FrameMaker and XML authoring tools.
Requirements:
* 5 or more years writing documentation for software developers who create embedded systems or device software
* Experience using an integrated development environment (such as Eclipse) to compile and debug code in order to verify tutorials
* Ability to read and understand C code
* Familiarity with embedded real-time operating systems, including device drivers, board configuration, and networking protocols
* Familiarity with software certification standards, such as ARINC653, DO-178B, and/or Common Criteria
* Experience using ClearCase
* Ability to work across geographic locations and time zones,
* BA, BS, or equivalent in technical communication or a technical field of study (such as math or computer science) or equivalent work experience
